405b871790 (cvs-temp-buffer): Undo last ill-conceived change. 
Replace it with another one which disables undo before calling
erase-buffer and then turns it back on if needed.

4127ed49c3 (vc-find-root): Walk up the tree to find an existing 
`file' from which to start the search and fix case where `file' is the
current directory and the root as well.
