Richard M. Stallman c171b42fcf (menu-bar-update-buffers-1): New subroutine 
broken out of menu-bar-update-buffers.
Truncate the file name and discard the nondirectory part.
(menu-bar-update-buffers): Discard middle of long buffer names.
