Paul Eggert 55daad71c7 * buffer.h (PTR_BYTE_POS, BUF_PTR_BYTE_POS): Remove harmful cast. 
The cast incorrectly truncated 64-bit byte offsets to 32 bits, and
isn't needed on 32-bit machines.

Under GNU and Unix systems, the file `Makefile.in' is used as a
template by the script `../configure' to produce `Makefile'.  This
is the file which actually controls the compilation of Emacs.
All of this should work transparently to the user; you should only
need to run `../configure', and then type `make'.
