d7f1b8af02 Add option to eshell/clear to clear scrollback. 
* lisp/eshell/esh-mode.el (eshell/clear-scrollback): New function.
(eshell/clear): Add an optional SCROLLBACK argument. If non-nil,
scrollback contents are cleared.

* etc/NEWS: Describe change.

* doc/misc/eshell.texi: Add entry for `clear'.

279558f472 Minor quoting etc. fixes to misc manuals 
Fix some minor quoting and spacing issues.  Distinguish more
clearly among grave accent and apostrophe (which are ASCII) and
single quote (which is not).  Prefer the standard terms
"apostrophe" and "grave accent" to alternative names that can be
confusing.  Use apostrophes to single-quote ASCII text.
* doc/misc/remember.texi: Spell the mystic's pseudonym in UTF-8
rather than approximating it in ASCII with grave accent.

1ba357e305 Add notice to visual commands section 
* doc/misc/eshell.texi (Input/Output): Add notice that some tools
such as git call less with its -F option which omits pagination if
the contents is less than one page long.  This interferes with
eshell's visual (sub-)commands.

52a4e87c63 Fix copyright years by hand 
These are dates that admin/update-copyright did not update, or
updated incorrectly.  Also, back out the copyright-date change to
doc/misc/texinfo.tex, as upstream hasn't updated that date yet.

29993416fb Add .info extension to @setfilename commands in doc/ 
This makes no difference to anything, since we always use makeinfo -o,
but it makes automake happier, if we ever decide to use that.

da5ecfa9b9 Spelling fixes. 
* lib-src/Makefile.in (regex.o): Remove reference to no-longer-used macros
CONFIG_BROKETS and INHIBIT_STRING_HEADER.  "BROKETS" was a
misspelling anyway....
* src/nsterm.h (updateCollectionBehavior): Rename from
updateCollectionBehaviour.  All uses changed.

7add5a8a7a Reduce use of @email in doc/misc 
In many cases it serves no purpose.  It gets converted to mailto:
in html output, which is mainly just an invitation to get spam.

* doc/misc/erc.texi (Special Features): Update contact information.
(History): Avoid using @email.

* doc/misc/eshell.texi (Bugs and ideas): Minor updates.

* doc/misc/faq.texi (Reporting bugs, Origin of the term Emacs)
(Setting up a customization file)
(Using an already running Emacs process, Turning off beeping)
(Packages that do not come with Emacs)
(Replying to the sender of a message): Avoid using @email.

* doc/misc/pcl-cvs.texi (Contributors, Bugs): Avoid using @email.

fa4729064f Update Ehsell visual-commands documentation 
* eshell.texi (Input/Output): Expand to cover new visual-command
options, eshell-visual-subcommands and eshell-visual-options.
Divide into separate Visual Commands and Redirection sections.
* eshell/em-term.el (eshell-visual-commands)
(eshell-visual-subcommands)
(eshell-visual-options): Add summary line to docstrings.  Add
cross-references.

15e4ed9c6a Added eshell-tramp module 
* lisp/eshell/em-unix.el: Moved su and sudo to...
* lisp/eshell/em-tramp.el: ...Eshell tramp module
* doc/misc/eshell.texi: Updated manual to reflect changes.

External su and sudo commands are now the default; the internal,
TRAMP-using variants can still be used by enabling the eshell-tramp
module.

1df7defd80 Fix minor whitespace issues after "." in manual. 
Be more systematic about using "@." (not ".") at end of sentence that
ends in a capital letter, and about appending "@:" after non-ends of
sentences that end in a lower case letter followed by "." followed by
whitespace.  Omit unnecessary use of "@:" and "@.".  Similarly for "?"
and "!".  Be more consistent about putting a comma after "i.e." and
"e.g."; this is the typical American style and it's easier to code in
Texinfo.
