rainbow-delimiters was removed in 87b616e, but some of its activation
hooks were restored in 3b58741 and not removed when merged into
`master`.

I removed the grammar recipes in 3b58741 to avoid redundancy with the
upstream recipes, but didn't realize that those upstream recipes weren't
added until Emacs 31, so users on 30 and older would get errors when
trying to install any missing grammars.
This also establishes a hard dependency between :lang (php +tree-sitter)
and :lang ({javascript,web} +tree-sitter).

BREAKING CHANGE: The PHP API data file no longer exists on php.net, and
there is no substitute, and php-extras is no longer maintained, so this
package is defunct and leaves php buffers in an error state. This
deprives non-LSP users from eldoc and naive code completion. The
alternative is to simply adopt LSP.
"\\'" will match the true end-of-string, whereas "$" will also match
just before a newline character. Not that there's much risk that
there'll be newlines in a filepath, but I'd rather be consistent. It
also makes these entries easier for users to remove from
auto-mode-alist.
BREAKING CHANGE: This removes the phpactor.el package in favor of LSP
support via lsp-mode/eglot. Use `+lsp` with the `:lang php` module
instead (with one of the supported LSP servers).
This was done because phpactor.el is on the way out of maintainership,
is redundant with pre-existing phpactor support in lsp-mode/eglot (or
the other, possibly superior LSP servers), and to simplify modules for
whom LSP/Eglot is *the* way to get these features.
doom-etc-dir will be renamed to doom-data-dir, to better reflect its
purpose, and align it with XDG_DATA_HOME (where it will be moved to in
v3, where Doom will begin to obey XDG directory conventions more
closely).
featurep! will be renamed modulep! in the future, so it's been
deprecated. They have identical interfaces, and can be replaced without
issue.
featurep! was never quite the right name for this macro. It implied that
it had some connection to featurep, which it doesn't (only that it was
similar in purpose; still, Doom modules are not features). To undo such
implications and be consistent with its namespace (and since we're
heading into a storm of breaking changes with the v3 release anyway),
now was the best opportunity to begin the transition.
Moved add-hook calls (for tree-sitter initialization) into their
respective modes' config blocks, or nearby, to be consistent with how
other, similar tools (like lsp!) are initialized, and does so at
runtime, rather than at expansion/compile time, which eval-when! caused.
BREAKING CHANGE: break the global nature of the tree sitter
module by adding a +tree-sitter flag to every applicable module
In the background this hooks turn-on-tree-sitter-mode
to the major-mode-hook of the language.
This may also solve the eager loading of tree sitter

Calling this pivotal macro "def-package!" has frequently been a source
of confusion. It is a thin wrapper around use-package, and it should be
obvious that it is so. For this reason, and to match the naming
convention used with other convenience macros/wrappers, it is now
use-package!.
Also changes def-package-hook! -> use-package-hook!
The old macros are now marked obsolete and will be removed when straight
integration is merged.
- Adds the auto-minor-mode package to replace our in-house
implementation.
- Merges associate! into the def-project-mode! macro because associate!
on its own is less useful than auto-minor-mode-alist,
auto-minor-mode-magic-alist or hooks.
- Changes the semantics of :modes and :add-hooks properties of
def-project-mode!. Its arguments are evaluated as is; lists will need
to be quoted.

projectile-project-root no longer returns `default-directory` if not in
a project (it returns nil). As such, doom-project-* functions (and their
uses) have been refactored.
+ doom-project-p & doom-project-root are aliases for
projectile-project-p & projectile-project-root.
+ doom-project-{p,root,name,expand} now has a DIR argument (for
consistency, since projectile-project-name and
projectile-project-expand do not).
+ The nocache parameter is no longer necessary, as projectile's caching
behavior is now more sane.
